This town is spread over different elevation levels , starting from 350 to almost 600 meters , on a plateau overlooking the sea, in the south -east summit of the Gulf of Naples , at the foot of Monti Lattari.

In this area , after noon , the warm air of the mainland salt and leaves room for the heavier and fresh Gulf of Naples , which brings with it the humidity of the sea , while at night the sea takes toward moisture , giving Gragnano a mild and balanced throughout the year and allowing to dry dough in a gradual manner , thanks to a perfect exchange , not only heat , but also the flavors and fragrances .
